Hit The Road Jack

Rose Canes Street Dickson 27.

Dear Sindy
Baby, I'm sorry. But what you've done to me did no good to us either. I lost my desire to eat my protein bars, injecting my arms. Look baby just come back to me please. Since you walked out my door my apartment has been a disaster. I rarely wash the dishes, clean my room, in fact I'm barely home. But honey I promise you, that if you come back to where you belong in my arms, I will change. I'll be a better man, I'll change for you.

Dear Jack
Change? Do you know how many times that word came out of your mouth? Well I'm done with you and all your lies. I wasn't expecting you to say anything different anyway. I do not want anything with you. Lately that I've been single I feel a lot better than when I was with you, it was like I was locked up. You treated me like trash. Do you think I appreciate something like you? As far as I know, I deserve a lot better. It ended Jack, long long ago.

Dear Sindy
I love you! isn't that enough? Look I know that if I apologize a hundred times it won't change anything. But everyone deserves a second chance. Please Sindy believe me. I'm not playing around anymore. If you come back and see how I am and how I've been changing my bad habits cleaning the apartment, I stopped smoking too. Listen if you want to forget everything we had, it's alright. But I want you I need you. You're the one I need

Dear Jack
Jack call me tomorrow at 8. See you soon

Romeo and Juliet Videos

Flip Book Video

I liked this video. It’s very original and interesting. The fact I like the most is that the person that did it, worked on it and took a while to do it, because he had to draw it out and then tape it. On the other hand he could have found a better way to hold the flip book and the video could have been in a better quality.

Romeo and Juliet The Suicidal Video

I truly liked this video. The drawings are impressed me because they weren’t perfect and simple but it looked very good. And the different colors they used were fine. Plus the song they used for the video was just perfect for the situation.

Romeo & Juliet Stop Motion Style

This video was my favorite out of all of them. The whole video was just perfect. No mistakes at all. I liked the characters they chose to represent each character in the real thing. The lightning and the expressions of the characters were fabulous. This video is so good I watched it twice.

Romeo & Juliet (9th Vid)

This video was ok. It didn’t impress me at all. But what I liked about it was that the socks were good. The scene in that video is my favorite scene in the movie; I think that’s what made me like the video. And it was an original idea to do this video with the socks. Wasn’t bad.

Tiffany Charles

Tiffany Charles was born in 1923 on the 3rd of March. Born and raised in New York. Her interests were painting acting and writing. Though the most important thing for her, was to gain her father’s love.
Background
Tiffany loved watching her mother dress up for gala diners, cocktail parties and events. Although she realized that things you do not need in life, look pretty for a while but won’t in fact make you truly happy. Her mother was a woman that loved to love beautiful things. She married Tiffany’s father, Dean Charles and gave birth to Tiffany and her older brother. The Charles family was tremendously wealthy for generations. They were the owners of Cadillac cars, Onassis jewelry, and lots of other companies here and there. They had houses everywhere, all around the world. Tiffany and her brother went to the finest schools in New York. They both finished high school and university.
Early Life
When Tiffany turned 6 in the year 1929, her father gave her a pony as a gift. Tiffany started to love her father more and more every day, not because he gave her a pony, because she thought he’s start showing her love. As days, months and thoughts passed her mind she couldn’t find a way to make him show love to her. In her later years, when she was a teenager, she saw that she wasn’t getting any interest from her father and she stopped trying, though it was always stuck in her head. Tiffany’s mother always filled her head up with so many lies about her father not showing her any affection.
Later Life
In 1944 she fell in love with a man called James Daniels. She married in 1946 and divorced 5 years after her marriage. She didn’t have any children during those years, although she did have an affair with James’s closest friend. She ended up pregnant with him but had an abortion and kept it a top secret. After the abortion, Tiffany starved herself until she became bulimic. No one if truth be told cared about how skeletal she looked, but she also found a way to hid this other one secret, in fact most people thought she was just thin. Men she’s been with said something similar to this: Tiffany was a very odd person sometimes but there was just something about her that made her stand out. After her marriage ended her father didn’t speak to her at all, giving her no excuse what so ever. This broke her heart in pieces.
She was nothing like usual wealthy women. You see Tiffany wasn’t very passionate about materialistic things. But she couldn’t help being around people who loved that sort of thing. She didn’t have much friends or closely related people to her. Most people wanted to become her friend because of how wealthy she was and this fact made Tiffany even more depressed and lost in her confusion.
Tiffany suffered a lot during her later years after she was a teenager. She started using drugs and she didn’t eat much food. She, in no way stopped being bulimic. The drugs she started to use were: Marijuana, Cocaine, and sleeping pills. She didn’t see her father very often, but whenever he’s see her he’s turn the other way. Her mother was too busy in things that didn’t interest Tiffany.
Tiffany was found dead in a hotel room, in the year 1960 on June 11th at approximately 7:45 a.m. She had committed suicide the last night she saw her father. She did leave a note on the table next to her bed she was found dead in. The note she wrote before she died wasn’t allowed for the press to know about. How they found about her life and her secrets, were because she had a diary and wrote everything, her thoughts, her wishes just everything was on there. Once she died, she obviously became famous and something I did not mention before, was that she had written a book when she was 17 years old and kept it under her jewelry box. They say that if she was still alive she’d be one of the most talented people in New York City.

Poverty In Haiti

Haiti is one of the world’s poorest countries, where most of the population lives in poverty. The problems in the Haiti’s world was the effect of massive poverty that has been getting worse over the last decade. Everywhere you go on the island you see poor people roaming in the street, ruining the beautiful views. Haiti’s poverty affects people’s life styles, health, and state of mind because the environment that you live in has such an impact on these parts of life.
Haitians have a life expectancy of about 57 years old. Because of this, Haitian’s would have been married off at a very young age because of how long they can live. Most of Haiti’s population is illiterate, meaning that they are unable to read and write. Only the wealthy and scholars were able to write and read which was only about 5% of the population. Healthy living ways are very hard to keep in such poor conditions, for example only 25% of children get vaccinated and less then one forth of the populating has access to clean water. The trouble is that Haiti not only has people in these conditions, however there are so many people and they keep on reproducing among themselves from young ages.
One reason for Haiti’s tremendously big poverty problem is the government. Over the years there has never been a stable government, and the consequences of that has reflected onto the citizens of Haiti, such as the terrible places people are forced to live in. The government its self is not doing much to improve the situation that the country is in and it will take many, many years for them to come out of this position if it ever does get better.
This country is in what is called a “poverty trap”. The country of Haiti is put into this category because of all the little things that are added up, for example the high population growth, no money, and poor conditions. There is not much hope for Haiti to come out of its “poverty trap” and it will certainly need a lot of hard work put into the countries government and helping the poor people.
What needs to be done?
There are many different things that need to be done in Haiti. Help and assistance is urgent. Institutions are being made in Haiti in the last years though a lot more need to be done. The Government has to concentrate more on critical things. The things that really have to be done first are: maintaining public order, and economic stability, securing property rights, building a regulatory role for some sectors and investment in and maintenance of communications and transportation. There have been many achievements in the Haitian Police and the Central Bank has helped a lot too. But in this country, is a fairly large country, and so many things need to be done there.
A good first step would be making use of the capitalization program like telecommunications, electricity, water, water sector, ports and airports. All of these things will happen in a more rapid way if the economic stabilities in Haiti get improved. Another thing that would make Haiti a better place would be increasing recourses, making more educational schools, and the services to any basic human needs that are needed. Most of all these things need very well done plans for them to be successful, what I’m saying is that these things will need a long period of time to happen and the Haitian government shall keep trying to make these things possible.
When discussing about donations, governments from around the world hesitate to donate supplies for this country. Some are too scared some just don’t care. Well I know that people should help make this country recover from its poverty and all of the sad things that happen all of the time. Children that are born and don’t have any future, are being forced to do certain things they shouldn’t be doing. Wealthy families all around the world should donate large amounts of money to this poor country. I mean there must be much more help. And I know people can do this. Though donations were given to the Haitian government, in 1997 it wasn’t effective at all.

NYC

9.JPG

At night there was a Latin event. One of the biggest tin American Legend was performing that night, he was brilliant, it was spectacular I was completely amazed at how much talent this man had.

While I was exploring these buildings a bird flew and stopped right in front of me, I thought it was beautiful so I took a picture of the bird. When I took a picture a bunch of people came towards me to take a picture as well.

After that, we went to empire state building and saw Manhattan, Brooklyn and New Jersey. Although the day was kind of foggy I still took good pictures. I liked seeing all of those building. The man there which was explaining what these buildings were, he was explaining to us that all the people that come to work in Manhattan come from New Jersey and the Bronx, not all of them, but most of them.

The next day we went to Times Square. Oh My God, it was insane I loved it! I couldn’t believe how many shows and gigs were going on there. All over Ads and people, there was a man dressed like a cowboy and he earned a living by all the tips he got of the women taking pictures with him all the time. I was full of excitement that day.

When Natalie and my mum saw my ice cream, they also bought ice cream from that place, I was so busy eating my own I didn’t even try theirs.

I bought these glasses for $5 in the street, I thought they were funky so I wore them a few times, anyway, there was a selling ice cream, I got the most delicious ice cream I ever had! Yum it was so good. His ice cream was so heavenly.

So while we were just walking we saw a restaurant that had just opened, the waitress was very kind, so we sat there and I ordered an Iced Tea, but that iced tea was way too bitter I had to put 3 spoons of sugar in that drink. I was excited to see the rest of the city.

A couple of hours passed and we wanted to see the neighborhood and just walk around, I was looking at how different things are New York than Cyprus. I saw this truck and it looked interesting because trucks here don’t have any drawings on them. So I took a picture. That say was sunny and fresh, there were workers taking out sodas out of the truck.

On the 16th of June we flew to America. When we arrived we were tired, hungry and just wanted to sleep. When we got to JFK, my older sister was waiting for us, because she used to live there. A couple of minutes after, we were heading to Manhattan and we dropped my sister to her University.

My Point Of View

Political Issues Are An Issue For Adults

Yes, I can agree because when a government is in a bad crisis, then most people get affected, for example when there isn’t enough petrol, it is more expensive now in Cyprus we people don’t have enough water, so that affects people in Cyprus because the government saw these problems coming.

Problems young people face, are the same everywhere

I don’t agree with this statement, teenagers in some Arabic countries have terrible lives for example, they can’t show some parts of their bodies, they can’t show their hair or face. Living like that is like living in jail in compare to how lifestyle of teens is in the U.S., Europe and more continents. But then on the other side I kind of agree when looking at another point of view like when a new kid goes to a new school in town, most kids aren’t in the best behavior. You can see that in schools are like different societies. Kids have issues and complexes with themselves sometimes. For example when a kid wants to fit in a group of other kids, then they might do foolish things to fit in.

Big Band Sounds from 1935

Big Band Sounds from 1935 this week. Don't forget that this is your source for memories of the best of the Big Band Era. Join us each week as we explore the world of Big Bands, Jazz, and the Blues.

Why did i pick this podcast?

Jazz music has been one of my favorite types of music. I usually listen to jazz music when I want to relax and chill out. The Era of Jazz was incredible, all that passion for jazz and all the old time artists. Then Jazz music was about real talent. Nowadays artists imitate music from that Era (the early 1900’s). In the year 1935 there was a very big industry on Jazz music and number of different things. My favorite artists from that decade are these: Lee Wiley, Ella Fitzgerald and of course Louis Armstrong. Jazz was also used for the old time cartoons.
When Jazz became big in the industry of music, actors, dancers and singers wanted to be part of it. Jazz was usually sang, danced and acted by African Americans. Jazz music was also played in Europe at the time. Jazz was all over the place. It was played on radio stations day and night. Jazz was all about love and dance. People loved it. It was the most famous type of music. This brought something new to the table. Artists started singing and dancing to Jazz in a very rapid way.
I wish people my age still danced and listened to this type of music. Not how it is now, where you go to a party or something similar and the only music playing is R&B or Pop. Jazz has inspired me to be more open minded about the last Era. Then things were not as fake as now, artists had their own unique look, they didn’t try to look like someone else, like now artists start becoming famous because they started off copying someone else’s work. I wouldn’t mind going back in time to live those years.
